Segway “Fourviere” tour 1h

Starting from the oldest part of the city called Vieux-Lyon, this quite unusual one-hour Fourviere Segway tour will allow you to discover one of the main attractions of the city: the Hill of Fourvière. After a short -yet thorough-training session on how to drive a Segway, you will embark on a fun and worthwhile adventure with one of our local guides.

After a few minutes, and rather effortlessly, you will reach the highest point of the city: the Basilica of our Lady of Fourvière (Notre-Dame de Fourvière), one the most precious gems of Lyon. There, you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city and its surroundings…and might even be able to catch a glimpse of the Mont Blanc!

Before heading back down, we will detour by the Roman Theaters of Fourvière, built on the hill in a time when Lyon was called Lugdunum by the Romans. Finally, you will reach our starting point in the heart of the old city through small cobbled streets, typical of the area.

In order to make this ride special and effortless, we use funny machines called Segway Personal Transporters. They are electrical vehicles made of a small platform, two parallel tires and a reclining handlebar. Thanks to the electronic part of the machine, the Segway maintains its balance through a “dynamic stabilization” system.
In order to move forward, no need of an acceleration pedal: you just have to lean forward, and the same goes for moving backwards or stopping, just lean backwards. The handlebar in the middle leans from left to right allowing you to drive very smoothly, simply using your own balance.

Kids friendly :

• If you want to do the tour with a child under 14 years old we can provide a bike or you can come with his/her bike or scooter. You can also rent an electric scooter belonging to a self-service rental company (such as Dott, Tier, etc… You must rent them according to their general terms and conditions). In any case, you will be responsible for the behavior of your child during the tour.
• In this case, we will provide helmets and protections for your children.
• While booking, please, tell us if you choose to come with children under 14 years old

Cancellation policy :

• Reservations cannot be cancelled or refunded.
• Departure guaranteed and maintained in the event of rain, unless cancellation by COMHIC notified 48 hours in advance.
• After 15 minutes’ delay, the reservation is cancelled and no refund will be made. The guide will start the tour with the rest of the group.
